Darth Jayden
Anyone knowing Jaxon and Chris will not be suprised to hear of their "intense like" for the movies and all things star wars. when jaxon was three, he was darth vader for halloween (happy for us, we bought the costume really big and darth vader will be reappearing this oct. 31). So it is no big suprise to see that Jayden, too, has formed an attachment to light sabers or as they are called in our home, Light Savers. These pictures almost catch how cute it is!

My Brown Eyed Girl
Just in case you didn't think that little girls catch on to the whole image thing...these exact words came from mykenzie's mouth the other day..."Mom, I hate my eyes. I want to take them out and trade them with Jaxon's." What is that all about?! Where in the world did she learn that brown eyes are not beautiful and only blue eyes are?! I've spent the last few days stressing over what has been said about brown eyes, or blue eyes or where she possibly could have come up with that statement...I'm completely clueless...the only thought that crossed my mind was weeks ago I was looking at jaxon and noticing his eyes. I said, "Jaxon, you have pretty eyes." Not knocking anyone else's eye color, I was just making an observation...but I guess she got the idea that only blue eyes like Jaxon's are pretty...AMAZING how fragile her self image is. So in tribute to my beautiful brown-eyed girl...I took this picture this morning to show her that her eyes are indeed beautiful.

Christmas Card....or NOT!
So I was thinking that this is a great time for us to get a family picture to use for our Christmas card...and just because we have like NO family pictures. However, apparently things were not meant to be. The setting was beautiful (second dam, of course):
Maybe this had something to do with it: snow in the mountains and 40 degree weather. I figured, that's ok, all we have to do is smile a few times and hurry and get back in the car. OOOps for me...that was BEFORE we had kids.

chris giving up and me and mykenzie thinking we're still in the middle of a "photo shoot"
me and jayden "chilling" (quite litterally)
so happy to be free
this should have been our first indicator that things were not going to go well...cold kids, tired kids, jaxon had been sick the day before

oh, hey, mom...cameras the other way
jaxon...where is the camera?
in my defence, I'm trying to get jayden to smile
jayden pointing to grandma (behind the camera)
ahhh, where did it go?! (mykenzie)
is there a family in that picture? jayden screaming for the freedom again
apparently that grass was exciting
jayden is DONE
jaxon refuses to climb on the bridge...he doesn't want to fall in....

and that's when we decided if we didn't have it, we wern't going to get it!
retakes are tonight after good naps :)
