Six Months Old

So dear little Jayden is now 6 months old. Can you believe it?! He went to the doctor's for his check up on monday. He is now 25 1/2 inches long (that would put him in the 20th percentile for height) and 15 lbs 10 oz (which again is the 20th percentile). He is smaller that the other kids have been. He is rolling all over and is SO much fun. He is sleeping pretty well at night (of course I say that now because the last 2 nights he hasn't woken up, which is good for my excercising habits!). He is still as good as he's always been. He's really pretty mellow, doesn't get to upset about stuff...he is such a fun and sweet little baby. He is greatly adored by all who come in contact with him.

Happy Birthday to me!

So I celebrated 26 years of life on Saturday. I'm now closer to 30 than 20 as I remember telling Chris when he turned this age :) I guess what goes around comes around. I spent the morning lounging with Jaxon and Jayden and watching the first season of Friends (which, by the way, I finished in 4 days...a feat I wouldn't necessarily recommend). Chris and Mykenzie picked out these PRETTY flowers. You can see Mykenzie's influence (as in, there PINK!). He also bought a carrot cake for me ("no one should have to make their own birthday cake"). We went out to pizza at this really good restaraunt in Smithfield then we went to McDonald's for ice cream--so the kids could play in the playplace. They've been dying to go there forever and I just can't really stand the food, so we did ice cream instead. We came home and sang happy birthday, but I just couldn't eat any more...it was a good day...i got to spend it with my dear husband and my wonderful kids...what more could you want on your birthday than to be in the presence of those who love you most! and yes, dad, i was treated like the queen that i am :) Chris saw to that!

These pictures are what Jaxon and Mykenzie call "marrying". It is more commonly known as dancing! Sometimes the clothing is Jaxon as Darth Vader and Mykenzie as a princess of some sort...but i had to post the pictures. In not so many years, this will embarass them, but how cute for now!

Underwear!!!

So yesterday I took the kids to my favorite Wal-Mart in search of new underwear for Jaxon (among other things). I won't even tell you how small the ones he had were, but it was more than ONE size! So he picked out some nice boxer briefs and some cool SPIDERMAN undies. He tells me in the car he wants to try them on at home...fine, whatever. No, he wants to wait for dad to see. OK, whatever. So Chris walks in the door at 5:30 and Jaxon starts stippin'. He modeled ALL 6 pairs for us. Then put all 6 pairs on at the same time. The he laid them all on the floor side by side, went downstairs and got pants to cover them all and then shirts to go with them. The he takes all the K'Nex out of their box and puts his underwear in that and starts carrying them around. You should have seen the fit he threw when I told them he couldn't bring his new underwear to Lyle and Ashlee's to show them. So this morning, what does he bring up with him first thing???? THREE PAIRS OF SPIDERMAN UNDIES!

Chris' List

(he wrote the list and now i'm typing it...but it really is his list)
1. He was awarded the 2nd team all region for offence AND defense for football, obviously. He was the only person to recieve both honors in the entire region.
2. He recieved the "Hustle Award" his senior year. this is a really prestigious football award at Sky View High School. His name is up on a plaque and it really is a BIG honor.
3. He received the Departmental Award in Industrial Technology his senior year.
4. He got in a huge snowmobile accident his Junior year. He hit a tree. He still had to ride the snowmobile out to the truck and then had to ride in the truck on a really bouncy road all the way to the hospital (it was a few hours). He had a collapsed lung, broken ribs, fractured vertebrae, bruised kidney and a completely torn groin muscle. he spent several days in the hopsital recovering and went to a big dance shortly after getting out of the hospital.
5. Chris fell out of his second story bedroom window (over the garage) he fell out the side (onto grass, not the driveway) in his sleep and didn't wake up. He got up walked back into the house and woke up in a recliner in the front room. In fact, when they got to the hospital he couldn't even tell the doctors what happened. He and his dad figured it out when the saw the screen on the lawn on the side of the house and hair and skin from his shin on the stucco outside the window. He moved his room to the basement shortly thereafter. (He separated his shoulder and broke some ribs)

by the way getting that list was like pulling teeth.


Mom's list for her:


1. mykenzie LOVES to color. she always has a pad of paper and some sort of writing device in her hands.


2. she, unlike jaxon, LOVES beans although she claims not to whenever jaxon is around.


3. she has more energy than a nuclear bomb! she gets increasingly more out of control as the day goes on...by bed time she is nearly impossible to handle!


4. she secretly loves being daddy's princess. she always does a coy little smile when chris calls her that, but she always pretends like she doesn't like it.


5. she is the most girly girl i've every met...maybe lisa could help us with this ?! she loves pink and makeup and hair. you can give her anything and as long as it's pink it's her favorite in the whole world!

OK, so 5 things you don't know about jaxon...let me ask him:

1. they don't know my toys

2. they don't know what's on my clothes

4. they don't know stuff that i don't do

5. they don't know bad guys, and i'm strong to kill the bad guys

mom's list of 5 things you don't know about jaxon:

1. Jaxon is so much like dad (lee) that it's kind of scary...i mean he is so exact about stuff. he has to have things done exactly his way. it's just kind of funny. sometimes i wonder if this is what it was like for gma and gpa!

2. He has leanred to pick Jayden up and carry him. (Yikes!)

3. He likes to eat Jayden's baby food. (oddly enough, they both do!)

4. He wants to be just like his dad (and c'mon now, who wouldn't!) He has a set of tools that he gets out whenever chris gets his out. His primary teachers told me that every sunday he has all kinds of stories about his dad and that all he ever talks about is dad. He even has matching pj's! (but apparently that seems to be a theme for our family!)

5. he HATES beans! i guess that would be where he and daddyio differ! we have to force him to eat 4 beans every time we have them. he hates beans in all their various forms. he even makes you pick them out of chili!
