Construction and New Friends

yeah, that's right. I took the two cabinets out by myself this morning after breakfast (Chris, you can start rolling your eyes now)

this is our "new friend" we found in the garage this morning behind the car. I was gonna shovel him off into the street, but before I could, mykenzie pushed him into a crack in the driveway...I don't do snakes!

Jaxon's Birthday and The First Day of School

Jaxon doesn't really like frosting, which makes decorating his cake a bit of a challenge...so much so that I don't usually bother. But this year, he was insistent that he have a hook on his cake. He loves this chocolate cake and it's supposed to be served warm...that's why the hook is running. He really wanted it to have a little reflection "star" on it...so here's what he got...

Tie Dye never goes out of style! Susie had the kids come over and tie dye t-shirts with her a few weeks ago. They had SUCH a blast and Jayden especially insists on wearing is just about every day! We are SOOO going to miss Susie when she moves to salt lake this weekend :(

Look What I Did!

In an attempt to make things go a little faster, I took it upon myself to do the siding of the addition. It took me about three days. I stopped at the gable and chris helped with that, but I did most of the cuts for that.

Addition Renderings

Here are the renderings we've done of the addition and what we are thinking it will look like all finished.






it is REALLY nice to have someone who knows how to draw it, how to build it and then how to use this program to design the inside and coordinate the colors and stuff...lucky me!

The Family Room

we have had birds in the addition EVERY saturday for the last three weeks. last saturday we had a hummingbird!

Jayden's Birthday Party (finally)

So Jayden finally got to have his birthday party. (He was sick all week long) So Sunday, after family dinner we had everyone over for some train cake and ice cream.

I am pretty proud of my creation, so there are quite a few pictures of the cake. Chris gets all the credit for the awesome frosting.
