While the Babes Asleep!

The big kids "party"! Jayden really can't last much later than 8:00 pm--he gets completely miserable after that. So between him going to bed and the other kids getting ready for bed (they are supposed to go to bed at 8:00 too, but that doesn't happen very often) they party. Here they are on Saturday night goofing around in daddy's new office (that post to come soon). Chris was working on his RC cars and gave the kids each a sticker. They are fun kids, I'm glad for that...what fun is raising kids if you can't all laugh together!

Ready, Set....

I think I can, I think I canI knew I, could I knew I could....
The kids have decided that they are big enough now to pick up Jayden. It's funny when Jaxon does it, but it's really funny when Mykenzie does it because she isn't really all that much bigger than him! Anyway, these pictures i took the other morning. I'm not entirely sure what her intentions were in picking him up...but you really gotta love both of their faces in that second picture. The third picture is them being friends again...and as always...Jayden with his thumb in his mouth--it is his constant state of being!

Just Call Me Brownie-locks!

OK, so on Saturday, the kids and I were hanging out at Chris' mom's house in order to give him time to get some work done. Anyway, Susie, Chris' little sister was going to a dance, so Sarah (the older sister) was helping her get ready...as was Mykenzie! Anyway, she had her hair all curly and cute. It looked so good....SO.....this morning I thought to myself, "Hey, I could do that and it would look ok!" So while the kids were getting their laundry picked up and ready to be washed (that is a VERY LONG process for these guys!) I attempted...the result...just call me brownie-locks!

Mykenzie In Her Element

This is Mykenzie's ideal state of being...coloring! She loves, Loves, LOVES to color, draw, paint...anything artistic. With the artistic genes she's got running through her (just a note: I have no artistic abilities whatsoever, but chris' family has a lot and my mom's family has a lot) it's no wonder this girl loves it. For this past Christmas I bought the kids a box of craft supplies: glitter glue, foam stickers, cool paints, crayons, paper, pom poms, pipe cleaners...THE WORKS! Mykenzie would spend hours every day with this stuff if I'd let her. She is our little artsy girl!

Oreo Cookies

The kids had an oreo cookie yesterday after lunch. I don't know why, but apparentlty it is impossible to NOT get it all over your mouth. Jayden absolutely LOVED, as you can see! Surprisingly enough some of it actually got in his mouth. Jaxon was in the middle of licking the chocolate off his face when I took this picture. Mykenzie was the cleanest of all...that is a FIRST!

The Sun Will Come Out...

again tomorrow....we hope!

yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day! The kids played outside all afternoon with their friends. They had so much fun. The weather report yesterday said we could have snow accumulations of up to an inch last night, so this morning when I went out for my walk, I was all bundled up, expecting snow and coldness....it was so nice...warm a little cloudy and it rained a few drops the whole hour I was outside.
now it's snowing!
On Monday, Chris and I bought the kids their summer clothes...Jaxon no longer buys his clothes in the baby and toddler section (I know this is probably obvious to all of you, but after being in that section for 4 plus years...this is a major milestone!) Now he shops in the little boys section...no more "T" after a number...now we have options like slim, loose, regular! WOWZA! They sure grow fast...and in a year Mykenzie will be out of little girls!

Late Supper

Chris got home late last night and by the time we all sat down to eat dinner, Jayden had had enough! He ate enough to fill his stomach...and then he fell asleep!

The Ending of an Era

WOW! Who would have thunk it?! Theurer's in Richmond is closed...indefinitely according to the sign hanging on the door! That was quick! I went to go get some stuff for dinner and it was closed at 6 on a Wednesday night. Apparently, the young man (read: irresponsible pot head) who is the manager has not been doing his job very well. His dad (who owns it) came in on Monday, the kid wasn't there...checked out all the customers, asked all keys to be turned in, told all employees to write down their hours and he'd send them a check and that's it! They have closed their doors...so now if we need to "run out quickly" we have to go all the way to Lee's! That's just crazy! So the city has been asking around trying to find someone else to buy it! Let's hope!

Daffodils

The other afternoon Jaxon and Mykenzie were outside enjoying the COLD air riding their bikes and scooter and having fun. I was down here on the computer blogging (I know, shocking isn't it!) Anyway, Mykenzie came in the house and downstairs to show me what she had picked for me....you guessed it. The only problem is, we don't have any daffodils that grow in our yard. So after asking, I discovered that she picked our neighbors flowers...the one neighbor who is not terribly friendly and scares me to death (of course!). So, after she and I had a talk about why it's not nice to pick other people's flowers she and I put our shoes on and ventured over to the neighbors house to tell her and say sorry. Mykenzie put on this so sad little puppy dog face and said that she had picked the flowers and that she was sorry. The lady's daughter and friend came to the door and kept saying, "Oh, she's just so cute!". Our neighbor accepted the apology and asked Mykenzie if she would like to keep the flowers. How's that for a lessong well learned! Oh, well. So now we have them on our table...and Mykenzie refers to them as her flowers.

I Love Richmond (again)

this morning as I was taking my morning walk I passed a group of 18 deer. I thought there was only 2 or 3 but as I got closer and they started running, they just kept coming! It was kind of neat to see. The kids would have loved it. Mykenzie asked this morning if she could come on my walks with me (it's supposed to be my exercise!).

This is the BEST

mykenzie was coloring on the program during sacrament meeting...look what she wrote all by herself (clarification...she wrote M and O and I told her if she wrote another M is would say MOM)

Rolling Easter Eggs

Here is this year's egg rolling at old main hill (we missed you, Betsy and Tanner!):
mykenzie with her bubbles
jaxon with bubbles
mykenzie made brittany walk stairs with her jaxon not listening
mykenzie falling down the hill

the release jaxon walking back up to roll the eggs again

the view from the bottom jayden's egg says "I love mommy"

Dying Eggs

Here are a few pictures of our egg dying fun:
this one is for bryce (it says "The Big" on it...as in the Big Green for those who don't get LaPierre humor!)
just because i know susie will love this!
Chris and Jayden dying eggs. Chris is the ONLY person who can get Jayden to sleep in his arms. This was after he'd woken up...so cute!

I think this was mykenzie's best egg...its a self portrait!
i think this was jaxon's best egg...he wrote his name on it!

Easter part 1

Here are some pictures from the easter egg hunt at grandma janet's. it has become quite a tradition...it's kind of convenient that there are only these two who do the hunt...only three next year...not much for competition!

Yesterday...

Like a total idiot, I forgot my camera yesterday...so this will have to be a photo-less blog (I know, I know...what's the point?!). Oh well! Chris and I were planning on going to the temple thursday night, so in the morning in preparation for that I called his mom to see if she could babysit for us. I asked what they were doing (it's spring break) and she said she and the girls were going down to salt lake to see the new joseph smith movie and asked if we'd like to come. so chris took off after lunch and we drove down...WOW! that's our first time seeing it and it was absolutely WONDERFUL! We didn't get to do much walking around, but jaxon and jayden got a quick tour of temple square. it was so much fun. we went out to dinner (Ruby Tuesday, Betsy! and Tanner...nice place...expensive, but nice...LOVED the peanuts...I think the kids cleaned them out!). Anyway, we got home about 9:35. It was a blast and the kids did really good and they enjoyed the movie. Jaxon recognized when joseph smith said part of the standard of truth...then he and mykenzie totally impressed the sister missionaries by quoting the standard of truth...anyway...it was fun.

Per Ellen's Request

A while ago ellen asked about the colors of paint in our house...so here we go (sorry to take so long, ellen)
this is the kids room in the basement (a sage green...darker than my room)
more of the kids room more of the kids room...again
the master bedroom (called antique green...I LOVE it!) jayden's room (i think it's called sugar cookie...it's a light yellow)

other angle of jayden's room
family room...a dark blue on one wall and the same tan on the other three the rest of the blue wall

the kitchen...cornelian red along the cabinet walls

the red and then the other two walls are tan more of the tan (love the gerber daisies on the table...."Don't you think daisies are the frendliest flowers?"--Kathleen Kelly [meg ryan's character in You've Got Mail])
the front room...tan
the small wall in the front room and over the stairs are the red color

I guess that's it...that's our colorful home!
