Finally DONE!

This was our book club book for March. I wasn't feeling particularly fantastic and there weren't very many copies, so I didn't really get much into it. After our discussion of the book, I really wanted to finish it...it took me about six weeks! It's a really good book, really interesting...but it just doesn't read fast. It's not one you can't put down, but it is very interesting. It's about the battle of Gettysburg from the commanding officers on both sides. SO interesting how they all knew each other and had all fought together. In one case, there were these really good friends. They had this big dinner party together and the next morning they went their separate ways to fight for opposing armies. I would recommend it if you are NOT looking for a quick read :)

Welcome Spring?

This was our backyard this morning...you have GOT to be kidding me! It is cold and snowy all day today. I'm sure that ONE day, spring will actually come to Cache Valley for real...as for now..I guess we'll not cover up the snowblower just yet!

"Jayden Jayden, Bo Bayden..."

Our kids seem to get their nicknames from odd places...and even odder..they STICK! When Mykenzie was little her hair would stick striaght up, so we called her Kenzie-Lou-Who (named for Cindy-Lou-Who). It got shortened to Lou Who or Kenzie Lou...now it's mostly just Lou. Jayden, also, has gotten a nickname from an unusual place...The Name Game. I'm sure you know the song...you take a person's name then it changes throughout the song by having different letters at the front. Well, jayden has become Jayden-Bayden or Jayden-Bo-Bidayden which of course, is too long. So mostly its just Bayden or sadly even....Bayd! The poor kids are going to hate me when they are still being called these names when they are in their 30's! this is bayd yesterday morning...he took my head sock and wanted to go outside...so funny
lest you think we exaggerate the significance of the silky and the thumb in Jayden's life...here is proof!
I swore my kids would never walk around with marker all over them...we weren't going anywhere...who was gonna care?
he got a little hungry and climbed up on the counter to eat breakfast as fast as I could make it!

the head sock, again! He is a cutie!

Jayden's New Bed

The other night we were putting the kids to bed. We told Jayden to get his "silky" and get in bed. We were down in Mykenzie's room...this is the bed he got in!

Joining A New Club...

That would be the vast army of Soccer Moms! Jaxon had his first practice yesterday...it was COLD! Oh, how I remember the sweatsuit under the uniform and still trying to stay warm! He only has about 8 kids on his team (not so sure how that will work, seeing as you need at least 11!). He was really nervous, so I stayed for all of practice... I think he'll enjoy being on the Wildcats this year :)

Easter

"A day late and a dollar short"...but here it is anyway. Easter morning...the kids new easter clothes. I'm not sure how we got them all ready for church and still had time to take a picture, but somehow we got it done :)
These are the easter egg hunt at Grandma Janet's house. She does this every year and these are her only grandkids old enough to participate...they were the only ones there!

Susie ran out of places to hide the eggs and just started chucking them out on the lawn (there were A LOT of eggs!)

Uncle Ben broke his arm the day before...he had to wait a few days for them to cast it, so on easter it was just in a soft cast.
Jayden lost interest until he figured out that the eggs had candy in them...even still he needed a little direction.

He single and looking....if you know anyone :)
