My Babies...

Lately, my kids have been completely obsessed with the stories of the day they were born. It has been fun to reminisce these three of the four best days of my life with them. They have been a joy and a treasure to me since the moment they arrived. Each child brings something so different to our family, and each one has their special place... jaxon is really smart. he uses really big words sometimes, but he always uses them the right way. he's a sweetie...and he LOVES to take care of the family. He loves his weapons and his superheroes. He is more timid than the others in some respects, but he is a good example for them.
Mykenzie is ALL girl and COMPLETELY fearless (of which I'm totally jealous). She loves all things girlie...pink, lip gloss, pretty clothes...she struggles sometimes with being in the middle, but she certainly makes her presence known. She is full of energy, but also loves to be cuddled and snuggled with. I'm looking forward to 2 1/2 hours with her alone everyday! jayden is our funnyman. He loves to laugh and make people laugh. When mom and dad were here, he was putting pancakes on his head to make everyone laugh...and when they did, he did it more. his smile is infectious! He loves his mom and dad...he will go and play by himself, but after a while, he'll come looking for one of us. he is so fun to have in our home.

anyway...those are my babies...you can tell we didn't have a good digital camera until recently...huh?!

Water Problems

Water problems seem to be our lot....about three years ago we had a pipe burst and flooded the basement...we ended up having to replace a lot of ceiling sheetrock. Well, we replaced that got it all fixed and thought we were in the clear....here we are 3 years later....the same pipe got a leak and SOAKED the carpet in the basement. Chris pulled it up to air it out while we were gone to bear lake. He got out his trusty shop vac and our kirby (that has MORE than paid for itself) and sucked water out of the carpet and the pad for hours last saturday. the pipe has been fixed, but I'm nervous to even turn it on....
and as if that wasn't enough of a mess....earlier last week, chris went into the downstairs bathroom and saw a big bubble of water in the paint....turns out, the toilet in the bathroom above it was leaking...he had to replace the bolts that hold the tank to the seat....this picture is after it was halfway repaired. We had to cut off all the paint that was ruined and let it dry. then he bought some spray on texture and that is the white patch you see in this picture. we just have to paint it.....someday!

The First Day of School

Can you believe we've reached this day?! I certainly can't! Jaxon has been SOOOO excited to start school. Today was his big day! He's going to need to do a little work on his morning routine (ie--no more playing around in the mornings!). He met his teacher last night. She is a first year teacher, but I think she'll do well. Jaxon walked right in no problems, no tears...he didn't even want me to come in with him...but I insisted! Here are a few pictures of his first day! this reminds me of Jamie

c'mon mom, hurry up!

The Caribbean of the Rockies

We spent Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Bear Lake. We had SOOOOO much fun. Bear Lake is left over from Lake Bonneville (a prehistoric lake that once covered most of Utah). It's 8 miles east to west, 208 feet deep at it's deepest point and something like 16 miles north to south. It is also home to the Bear Lake Monster, the evil cousin of Loch Ness. Here are quite a few pictures of our vacation....

this was on the way home and Mykenzie and Jayden were already asleep

he was eating the sand with a shovel at one point

getting tired

he had a blast with his boat. It tipped over a few times and got submerged a few times, but he had tons of fun

I think he didn't want to be in the water, but was trying to get to chris.
he usually liked being in the water and splashing and playing, but this was day 2 and he was EXHAUSTED!
this was when he realized that I was on the beach
silly me, I told mykenzie to pose!

we tried to take a picture of just me and chris because we have very few of those...but alas, still didn't accomplish it!

we drove our cars right down to the beach...bear lake doesn't go as high as it used to so now there is al this open beach, so there are roads all over that go right down to the beach...sure beats paying and having to walk miles like in boston!

susie the mermaid

mykenzie couldn't sit still long enough to actually get done (shocker, I know!)

Jayden, however, loved this....he was helping to bury himself

his new legs!

jayden burying me...and yes, that sunburn is painful
jayden's sandy butt! it was so cute!

jaxon loved shoveling the sand and then throwing it in the lake
