Jayden teaches Payton the basics of a photoshoot

Payton: Jayden. Hey, Jayden, look, they've got that weird thing with the flashy-lighty-thingy on it.

Jayden: Payton, dude, leave me alone! Your hands are soggy.

Payton: What, do you mean THIS hand is soggy?
Jayden: Payton...gross!

Jayden: Seriously, Payton, you touch me again and you're outta here!
Jayden: Payton, stick your tongue out like this

Payton: Like this?
Jayden: Payt, mom and dad's room is on the other side of this wall. Cool, huh?

Jayden: This is how you give a thumbs up.

Mykenzie's new doll

Words of Wisdom

as quoted from a recent magazine article:

Don't get mad, get the camera! My new mantra everytime my kids do something that is just so crazy I want to scream. I got out of the shower this morning to find this:

They had the tub filled with water and were playing in it. It was ok until it ended up all over the floor...oh well...houses come and go, but the kids will only be little this one time!

Guess What!

Jaxon got an Eagle Ticket at school on Friday. He's been trying so hard to get one and was so frustrated when he didn't. An Eagle Ticket is given to a student for doing something good. Jax was walking in the hall. He was so proud of himself, he took it off his school shirt and stuck it on his jammie shirt!
Way to go, jax!

For Dear Queen Susanne...

As promised, here are a few pictures of Payton with his eyes open. Next time he won't have been beaten by the doctor right before we come! Maybe he'll even give you a little smile then!
It was good to see you today! We sure miss our "family" from the NICU!

P.S. for those wondering, Payton is 6lbs 14.5 oz (he's now bigger than kenzie and jayden at birth). and 20'' long! Growing like a little weed.

Mykenzie

You'll never believe what happened last night. Anyone who knows Mykenzie won't find this story in the least surprising. We had a "I told you so" moment last night. I bought this stool so the kids could reach the sink in the bathrooms. They all seem to think that it would be great to put it in the shower. I've told them and told them and told them not to do that. So last night I was finishing dinner while Mykenzie was supposed to be showering. I heard the water turn on, and then about 2 minutes later I heard a huge THUD and then Mykenzie's cry...if you've spent time around her you know the cry. I run to the bathroom and she has blood coming out of her chin. Sure enough, she fell off the stool and hit her head on the side of tub...split it right open. You could see the bone. NASY! Doesn't it seem like these things always happen on the most crazy and stressful nights. Chris had a few things he had to do and we were already late for supper. Chris took her in and I stayed home to get the kids dinner and ready for bed. Chris said she was so good. The nurse told her she was her best stitch patient EVER! They covered up her face to stitch her chin. She sat so still they thought she'd fallen asleep. Apparently she'd been talking to the nurses and doctor the whole time up until then. They checked and she was still awake. Then they asked her why she was so quiet and she said she didn't want to mess up the stitches. She was a good little patient. She did great.

So in summary:

THIS plus water
results in this (7 stitches)
and this!

We Are a Happy Family

After two whole months of not being able to even touch Payton, the kids have sure made up for it. They would hold him all day long if I'd let them. Jayden likes to point out Payton's body parts....arms, fingers, ears, eyes, mouth...

Kenzie is constantly hovering over him trying to do something
Jaxon is a great big brother. He looks out for Payton and keeps him safe in our crazy house.
Jayden must have been in bed already. I had a picture of all three of them, but somehow it got deleted.

I just LOVE all my kids!

What is different?

NO MORE OXYGEN! The doctor said he could try without this week! He's been doing pretty good!

Mykenzie's 5th Birthday

We can hardly believe our little princess is 5 years old already! Wow! They are going fast. We had a birthday party for her last week. She wanted another castle cake, but I SOOO had to put a nix on that. I thought there was no way I'd have the time to do that. Instead, I talked her into a butterfly cake. This one was way fun to make. After three hours, the masterpiece:She told the doctor and the nurses the next day all about my "masterpiece". (Not that she has any idea what that word means!) It was a pity to have to eat it!
She just hates being the center of attention....yeah right!
Cinderella is her favorite princess. She got a cinderella dress and a whole collection of dress up shoes.
Jayden liked the shoes too.

It was a great day. We enjoyed celebrating Mykenzie. She sure is a sweet little girlie. We really appreciated family coming to celebrate with her. Thanks :)
