Done...Finally!

We decided to pull up the carpet in the front room and hallway this past weekend. After 7 years and the three older kids, it was just NOT holding up. It looked terrible. (It was kind of nasty to see all the places where something liquid had been spilt and left a wet mark on the subfloor!)
These are the "before" pictures.

Here are the pictures of the new floor. We went with a laminate wood floor...for the cost and durability. It took us two nights to put the floor in and everything is done today, except the closet! It is absolutely beautiful. I love this new floor. The kids think is fun to slide all over the floor.

here is the master at around 1:00 am after finishing...finally!
This is the front room all done. We decided to get new furniture in there as well. We got these cheap (as in inexpensive) carpet rugs with a gift card that we had from the flooring store. The furniture we picked out weeks ago. When we got it all in the chairs are a LOT bigger than they seemed in the store.

Anyway....it's definitely different than what we had before. I love the furniture, but still getting used to the new arrangement. Our guests last night said it felt a little cramped...not sure how I feel about that. You will just have to come and visit and give us your opinion.

I have the POWER!

The kids LOVE to play He-Man (remember that show?) Mykenzie will play it with Jayden while Jaxon is at school. This is the starting position...swords on the back (as in down the shirt in the back!)Then they pull them out and in a very He-Man like way, say "By the power of Grayskull!"
"I have the POWER!"
Oh, I get such a kick out of this! I think it's so funny to see them walking around with the swords in their shirts. And Jayden, especially, has a good time playing He-Man. Sometimes they even pretend to have Battle Cat with them.

Dear Grandpa Lee,

I wanted to tell you that my mommy gave me grandpa lee beanies the other night for dinner. They were so yummy. I ate a whole bowl full. I am sending you some pictures so you can see how much I loved them. I liked them so much, my mom made them for me for dinner the next night too!

I might even have some tonight, because I don't think tacos will taste very good to me.

I love you, Grandpa!
Love,
Payton

p.s. my mommy says you and grandma dottie are coming to visit me this summer. i can't wait to see you again...only this time I'll be big enough to play too!

Dress Shopping

So a week ago we had planned to all meet down in Provo to go wedding dress shopping with Betsy. We did this with Katy and Sarah too. It's a strictly girl party (not that the boys were wanting to come anyway). We bring the little girls and let them try on flower girl dresses we chit chat and enjoy sometime together and ooooo and awwww at all the dresses (and the PRICES!) So we had planned this for Valentine's day. The Monday before, Travis has RSV...and Sophie and Travis are too sick to come. Saturday morning dawns cloudy and by the time we hit the road, it's starting to snow. It got really bad around Ogden. We were counting all the cars that had slid off the road...we got to 6 when all of the sudden, we find ourselves as number 7! Chris had taken the car out of 4 wheel drive and was switching lanes. He got sucked over by the snow and we ended up sliding sideways down I-15 and went off into the borrow pit. We were stuck for about 45 mins. Chris got us out, and then we got stuck again. Finally we drove up the borrow pit to a more shallow part, waited for a HUGE gap in the traffic and gunned it. We made it with little damage to the car (just the muffler was bent and dirk fixed it for us). We decided to continue on to Provo. So glad we did. We had dinner with the fam and then went out to search for dresses. Here are a few:
we called this one the Grecian Goddess...it was really beautiful, but not so modest...

this dress was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous...it was so pretty on betsy and it was exactly what she was looking for...but again, too immodest.

this one was pretty, but cut across the chest kind of weird
these (above and below) are that really pretty one
