Pun'kins

So today was national walk to school day, for those of you NOT in "the know". The elementary school here had like three little stations to stop at on the way to school...each highlighting a different kind of safety or kindness (ie helments, bullying, crossing the street, etc). So we drove to the fire station (yes, richmond has one) and walked from there. After dropping jaxon off, Mykenzie, Jayden and I were walking back to the car and noticed a sign in a window offereing free pumpkins to kids. Since I had my trusty pink cell phone with me, I immediately dialed and discovered perhaps the greatest "fall" thing EVER! This guy here in town and his wife grow this HUGE pumpkin patch and then give them away for free. After picking Jaxon up from school we ventured over to his house and the kids each picked out a pumpkin. These are not just wimpy small pumpkins...we're talking big ones. Each child gets their own, or the family can get one HUMUNGOUS one (at least as tall as Jayden). Anyway, he also gave us a bunch of gourds that are featured in the following pictures. This guy was so nice and says he does this every year and that we should tell everyone we know with kids who would be interested. He said last year he had a hard time getting word out and got stuck with quite a few pumpkins. Chalk up another one for small town people! kenzie picked out the white gourds

he was SOOOO excited

couldn't get jayden to participate in a kid picture
