A Little Poll...
'Tis the year of polls and surveys (meaning, this being an election year) I thought we would do one of our own...
Little baby no-name is still little baby no-name. While there are quite a few names I like and would be happy to use, Chris has narrowed his list to 2, and seeing as he hasn't budged from those 2 names in the last 2+ months, I'm thinking he's not gonna.
I thought perhaps a little online poll might help me...the two names he likes are:

She's so smart....
While I was working on the yard and kind of sort of neglecting my family...Mykenzie learned to ride a bike. Jaxon and I decided it was time for her to take the plunge when we just couldn't stand the sound of those training wheels on the way to school lunch. Oh, they were SO loud and annoying...and Mykenzie does NOT ride slow! So one evening while chris was mowing the lawn I took the training wheels off. I kind of explained how to ride a two wheeler to her (at least as best you can explain that to a 4 year old) then I held on for about 30 seconds while she was riding and then let go. I did that one more time and then that was all it took! Seriously, it took one more quick conversation about how to get started and then she was off. She can cruise everywhere!

Seven and a Half Months
OK, so here I am at seven and a half months (give or take a few days). If you're thinking, WOW, she's not very big...that is exactly what my doctor and I both were saying at my appointment a week and a half ago, which is what spurred on the ultrasound to measure which found that little baby no-name is measuring perfectly for his gestational age. I think I measured small because I think his head is almost half way out! (OK, so that's an exaggeration, but it sure is DOWN THERE...the guy doing the ultrasound had a hard time measuring the baby's head because it was so low!)
I'm Still Alive...
I bet you were thinking that I didn't like my new background, so I won't blog anymore...OH how wrong you were! I thought I would show you the evolution of projects that have kept me from keeping you informed...It all started with the fence needing to be re-stained. For those who have seen our backyard and know the size of our fence will understand that this is NO SMALL project. I started on a Thursday and finished the next Tuesday. Chris helped as much as he could on Saturday and with his help we finished the entire back of the fence and almost halfway down the north side. This is a close up of the finished project...looks pretty good, huh?!
Here is a general idea of the size of our backyard and by extension, the size of the fence. In reality, I didn't do both sides of the back or south (those neighbors can paint it themselves if they want it painted! That paint was EXPENSIVE!)
This new paint job led me to want a bigger improvement in my backyard, something a little nicer. Chris found the following furniture on clearance at wal-mart...and a happy mother's day to me:
That was nice, but now we needed something to make it even better, so we (meaning I) decided a nice little flower bed would look really good there (the grass doesn't grow very well right there and it is a pain to mow, so voila...a new flower bed). For those who are gardeners--or like to think they are...those are some emerald pines (NO needles), a few dogwood bushes, some daylillies (a staple in our yard and in our region...they can tolerate the heat) and two bluebell flowers. Chris added the lights and it makes a nice effect in the evening...I'll have to take a picture of that!
That lovely project got extended after a complaint that it is annoying to mow between the window wells, as, indeed, it is. So I continued the flower beds into the back of the house. These are the same trees as well as calla lillies. I'm needing a little help with those if anyone has some. I planted nine of them and 5 of them are on their way out...I'm quite frustrated. Chris also decorated this with lights and it looks really nice at night.
The final transformation in our backyard is a NEW GRILL! Chris really enjoys cooking out and we all REALLY enjoy what he cooks. He is a charcoal man. Our old grill was a gas grill with all the insides taken out and brick in the bottom. This is a backyard professional...and it makes GREAT burgers, dogs and steaks. We've yet to try some chicken on it, but I'm sure it will be just as wonderful!
And here is what was neglected--besides the kids, of course--our garden. It so DESPERATELY needs to be weeded...my project for next week!
Now throw in there Sarah's wedding which of course is an all day affair, plus the day before with helping set up and then a doctors appointment and an ultrasound to measure the little guy and that's why I've not been on here for a while!

T-ball
So soccer is over...his coach bought the entire team a trophy...how nice was that? Anyways, so now we're on to baseball, which he's totally been excited about FOREVER! I've only been to one game so far, but then again, they've only had two! He LOVES it and he's not too bad at it. For those who have done the little kid soccer thing, you might be familiar with the term "magnet ball"...well T-ball's not really all too different.
This is Jaxon at bat. I was talking to my neighbor who has a daughter on the team and everyone started calling me. I look over and Jaxon's at bat saying, "Mom, WATCH!". Funny guy.
This is his celebration of making it onto first base! They have outs, but not really strikes. Everyone on the team gets a chance at bat and then they switch up. They are basically just trying to get them to understand which way to run and things like that.
Here he is playing the "pitcher"...basically standing there to catch the ball, or to be a target!
I LOVE this picture. He thought he was so cool with his hat on backwards!

Guess Who's Gone Green?!
This is the CVTD slogan to get people to take the bus. And that's just the challenge Chris decided to take. With gas prices here right around $4.00 a gallon, he's figured that it costs him $4 a day to drive to and from work...and it's killing us! SO...on Monday he came home from work and said he was going to take the bus the next morning with the neighbor who works with him. He got up early, left the house around 7:00 a.m. and made it to work! He got home that night about 6:30. So, he's decided it so worth saving somewhere around $50 a month to take the bus 3 days a week. So far, so good. Plus, think of all the things he can get done during the commute :)
